Last Scene of Season 1 when Barbie was awaiting his execution

CBS is bringing back its hit summer show Under the Dome for season 2 on June 30 and changes will be coming. New characters will appear and others will be leaving in the only way they can within the Dome.

At the end of season 1, the origin of the Dome was revealed to be from aliens who wanted to protect the town. The finale ended with Barbie about to be killed in front of the whole town for a crime he didn't commit. The Dome reacted by lighting up the sky with "pink stars"!

Nina Tassler, President of CBS, presented a preview of the upcoming Under the Dome season 2 with teases about the show's direction. Check out a few highlights.

New Characters: Junior's uncle will show up after hiding out when the Dome first appeared. In addition, a school teacher will make her presence known and cause trouble for Jim.

Unexpected Romance: In the trailer, Big Jim and Sheriff Linda were shown kissing in an embrace. Sizzle!

Quick Deaths: Two "favorite" characters will be killed in the season premiere.

Moving Away from Book: Season 2 "goes places the book never went."
