YIFY and YTS Are Gone Forever

Wednesday, 4 November 2015
Unfortunately, it recently became known that popular torrent release group YIFY and its official YTS site have gone offline forever. It was just a couple weeks ago that the popular movie torrent website YTS became inaccessible. This outage raised concern among many users, partly due to the fact that the website belongs to movie release group YIFY, extremely popular among public BitTorrent service for many years.

yify-logo.jpgquality65stripallstripall.th.jpg

Apparently, this reign has come to an end, as YIFY and YTS have shutdown permanently, according to a lot of information that has been made available over the past few days. It was confirmed that the entire operation has stopped, which means that no new official YIFY movie releases will ever appear online. At the same time, the operator of YTS/YIFY remains silent for the last two weeks, making no official announcement and providing no explanation.

The news is an important point for BitTorrent community, as YIFY first arrived on the scene 5 years ago and has shared over 6,000 releases since. Its website (YTS.to) also became very popular, accounting for about one million unique visitors per day, who generated 6 million pageviews according to TF.

Although this shutdown doesn’t mean that online piracy will end anytime soon, it marks one of the most significant changes to the BitTorrent scene in recent history, not least because YIFY releases were among the most-pirated movies all the time.

Two years ago, YIFY attributed this popularity to the presentation and consistency of its releases, saying that its secret was in everything from the consistent movie cover art to the information layout, and even to the file-size of the encodes. All these things were really important because people like stability and assurance with the content they get. By combining consistency with a reasonable file-size, the group has filled a spot in the community showing high demand.

The important moment is that YIFY also played a crucial role as the primary movie supplier for many Popcorn Time forks, so the industry experts are going to estimate the size of the shutdown fallout soon.

At the same time, many people are now being misled by fake YIFY websites, Facebook accounts and impostors who are trying to profit from the confusion.

Here at ET our own Release Group has always been available and delivering all what fans want from small size HDreleases to big size Bluray encodes in different popular formats thus our fans won't feel the loss as alternatives are always available for them..

Apple Music is a lot of things. Along with a music streaming service, it will let you play songs you have stored locally on your iOS devices, plus songs that you’ve uploaded from your local machine to iCloud using the $25/year iCloud Match service (which is now free if you use Apple Music). Then there’s the radio component. Both the algorithmically generated, artists/genre based radio stations like Pandora and a live, human DJ based 24/7 radio station called Beats 1.
Apple Music
Confused?
There’s a lot to figure out and unpack. So let’s get to it.

The Basic Facts

If you didn’t watch the WWDC keynote reveal for Apple Music (you lucky duck), here are the basic facts about the service in an easily digestible form.
  • The service starts at $9.99 for a single user and has a $14.99 family plan for up to 6 users (based on iCloud Family Sharing). There’s a 3-month free trial.
  • The service launches on 30th June and will be available in 100 countries. Yes.
  • Apple Music will let you stream up to 37 million songs (Spotify has 30). That’s most of the catalogue, but some edge cases like The Beatles will be missing. I’m glad I bought all those albums.
  • You will be able to download songs for offline playback.
  • There’s a Beats 1 live radio station manned by real DJs around the word which will be free for everyone to listen to.
  • The old iTunes store still exists. You’ll still be able to buy music.
  • Free users will also be able to listen to artist based radio stations, but there will be limited skipping allowed.
  • Apple Music will be available on Mac, PC, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch at launch. With Android client coming in the fall (around September).
  • There’s more. Let’s talk about that below.

It Has the Best of Beats Music With the Best of Apple

Beats didn’t have a stellar music library or even a free tier. What it did have was amazing curation. Beats hired experts in the field and asked them to make awesome playlists. It also had a feature where you’d tell it the kind of music you wanted to listen (genre, mood) and it would generate the playlist for you. The first part has been successfully integrated in the Music app.
Apple Music

The problem with having access to 37 million songs in the palm of your hands is that you have access to 37 million songs in the palm of your hands. Where do you start? What do you listen? It’s overwhelming. Curated playlists by real human beings is a great thing for discovery. And yes, Apple Music also has the old-fashioned algorithmically generated stations/playlists, don’t worry.
Now, the best people at Beats are creating curated playlists, but using Apple’s large catalog. Sounds like a great recipe to me.

It’s Not Revolutionary, It’s Evolutionary

Apple Music doesn’t have anything dramatically different from other streaming services. A hologram of Pharrell isn’t going to pop up when you’re playing Happy for Nth time (can’t blame you).
And that’s fine. Apple has a track record at taking something that’s already out there and making it better. Apple Music is taking all that’s out there, making it better and presenting in a way that only Apple can.
It seems like Apple Music will stream songs at 256 kbps instead of the industry standard – 320. Audiophiles might think that’s a lot worse but if it makes a difference in practice is yet to be seen. It does save more than 20% bandwidth though.
Apple Music
I honestly have no idea what to expect from Beats 1. While it won’t be for everyone, I think it’s going to be fun to listen to music picked by people who know what they’re talking about.

The Price Makes Sense

In the US, Apple Music costs the same as every other streaming service – $9.99/month. And it’s launching in 100 countries. Here in India, it’s priced at Rs 120, that’s $2/month. It might seem cheap to you, but actually that’s in line with Rdio and other local streaming services. If the pricing in every other 98 countries is just as sensible, Apple can expect millions of users to jump ship.
Apple Music
But the only problem is that Apple Music doesn’t have a meaningful free tier. With Spotify and Rdio, you can stream any song you want for free – with ads. With Apple Music, that’s just no possible. You can play artist radio stations but with limited skips – it’s just not the same.

Just For You

Apple Music
Apple Music has a For You section where you select your favorite artists and Apple will present albums and playlists based on what you like. Just as everything else, Apple Music will learn from what you’re playing over and over, what you’re skipping and what you’re saving. Based on that, Apple Music will recommend more music.

There’s a Lot More, but I Can’t Wait to Try It Out

There’s still a lot we don’t know about Apple Music. How exactly do radio stations work, can you download songs for offline use on Mac/PC, will the Android app be usable? But I’m excited to try Apple Music out. I have a feeling that it’s going to be way better than Rdio (whose apps are just a web wrapper at this point). After all, Apple Music has the largest song collection. Check out the chart below by TechCrunch to see how it compares with others.
Apple Music

Will You Be Switching to Apple Music?

There’s a free 3 month trial that Apple believes will be enough to get you hooked. Will you be trying Apple Music out? Share with us in the comments below.

Somebody's gonna have hurt feelings...

The Hulk isn't Loki...
If somehow, Thor managed to get the Hulk to lie down and stay still long enough for him to place Mjolnir in the center of his chest and when the Hulk tried to move, finding himself quantum-locked and presumably held in place his reaction would depend on which version of the Hulk was there at the moment:

SAVAGE HULK
The savage but not too intelligent Hulk would rant, calling Thor a puny god and would slam his fists against the ground until the shockwaves from his blows dislodged the hammer from his chest. How? By causing an earthquake which would cause the hammer to move in relationship to the Earth. The Hulk isn't touching it, he is causing the Earth to move, which CAN dislodge the hammer. No worthiness required and HULK SMASH puny god!

MR. FIXIT
A version of the Hulk characterized by his uncharacteristic grey skin color, much smaller physique and the wearing of fashionable suits, with white shirts AND ties. Lacking the power of his green incarnation, he made up for it in sheer underhanded fighting technique. Even coupled with his much reduced strength, hitting you below the belt was Mr. Fixit's MO. Realizing he couldn't move the hammer, he would feign unconsciousness until Thor came to remove Mjolnir. The events would happen so quickly, even Thor would be surprised.
  • As Thor bent down to grab his hammer, Fixit would pin Thor's hand to the hammer on his chest.
  • A swift blow to the 'nads (we assume even Thunder Gods have reasonably sensitive gonads) strong enough to knock a semi to the top of a ten story building should get Thor's undivided attention as far as distractions go.
  • While Thor was recovering from his unfortunate low blow, Fixit would push back and maintaining his grip on both Thor's hand and Mjolnir he'd begin relentless pummeling Thor about his nose and eye region, assuming these two would be more vulnerable than the Thunder God's dense forehead or heroic jaw.
  • Thor would be dazed and confused. We've seen Thor confused when he has to take body blows. Normally, Mjolnir is the one sucking up the damage. Today, Thor's face would get a turn. And just so were clear, Fixit was fast enough to hit Spider-Man in a fight.
  • His attack would be brutal and Thor would be forced to fight twice as hard now that Fixit was aware of this new, previously unknown, possibility.
Mind you, Fixit is certain he isn't going to win. He's just in it for the pain he's causing Thor. He likes pain. Especially if its yours.

Yes, that's Wonder Man, the guy who hits like Thor's hammer. Joe Fixit isn't impressed.

THE PROFESSOR
A temporary fusion of all of Bruce's disparate personalities created the Brilliant scientist in the body of the Savage Hulk. The Professor would recognize the quantum-locking mechanism and would calmly discuss why this situation is the least likely one to help them resolve whatever problem brought them to blows in the first place. Thor, hard pressed to disagree with such a superior intellect would remove Mjolnir and apologize. The Professor has been the smoothest talking version of the Hulk ever. To bad it didn't last.

If Thor, wasn't subject to reason, the Professor would then just GET UP.
  • The Professor had a level of regeneration rarely displayed in other versions of the Hulk. He could regeneration 70% of his mass anew, in seconds. So he would brace himself and then let the hammer rip right through him, front to back.
  • He would pause, because, well it did hurt a lot and then he would regenerate the entire region of his body still pinned under the hammer. He would plant his foot on the hammer and grab the stunned Thor.
  • Then he would proceed to beat Thor about the head and shoulders until he was satisfied with the result.
In a confrontation with the U-foes, Vector attacked the Professor attempting to use his power to shear the flesh from the Hulk's bones. It worked really well, and against anyone else it would have been a winning move. The skeletal Hulk still won. And then he regenerated ALL OF HIS FLESH RIGHT BACK a few seconds later.

THE GREEN SCAR
The most terrifying version of the Hulk ever seen, this version of the Hulk has lived off-world, battled for his life in a planetary arena until he won his freedom, released his people and then made a beeline for the Earth, to wreck revenge on the people who sent him away in the first place. He basically fights all of Earth's most powerful superheroes to a standstill by threatening to destroy them or the Earth, whichever came first.
  • This warrior incarnation of the Hulk had the power to emit planet breaking waves of force capable of destroying planets. Physically unstoppable, the only way he was going to be lying down, was if he wanted to bring Thor, closer to him.
  • The Green Scar Hulk would feign being unconscious as Thor approached him to place the hammer on his chest. As Thor was about to release the hammer, the Green Scar would grab the hammer and Thor's hand and while Thor is still holding it, beat the Thunder God into unconsciousness.
  • Green Scar Hulk would rant, scream and berate Thor for thinking he would fall for such an ineffective means of stopping him. He would go on to remark the only way to stop him would be to kill him.
  • He'd then make commentary about Thor's inferior warrior nature and then Green Scar Hulk would drop the hammer-battered body of Thor and his hammer on the ground before walking slowly away. Thor would be unavailable for comment.
Yes, that IS the Silver Surfer being beaten down by the Green Scar Hulk.
Forget Sync. It’s pathetic if all you’re really looking to do is copy some video files to your iPad so you can watch them later. You know, on the plane or during a commute or just sometimes when you want to watch a movie on the iPad.
Copying videos to your iPad should be easy. Yes, we’re going to need iTunes and yes, it might take almost the same time that it takes to sync your iPad with iTunes but no, it’s not going to be tough. In fact, if you can drag-and-drop, you can do this seamlessly.
The iPad understands a few formats for video. There is a default Video player on the iPad which can play videos and which can handle video files that you drop into it.
So the big question is, how to copy video files to the iPad easily.
Transfer Videos to iPad
Step 1: Connect your iPad to your PC or Mac
Step 2: Open iTunes if it doesn’t fire up automatically
Step 3: Select your connected iPad from the list of devices. (You’ll find this on top-right or on the sidebar if it’s enabled. You can enable the sidebar from the View menu option.
Step 4: Under the device, you have an option called Movies. Select this. (If you’ve got videos on the iPad already, they’ll be shown as a list)
Select Movies in iTunes
Step 5: Now all you have to do is drag and drop the video files that you want to copy. To make this easy, have the folder containing the video file ready, have iTunes open in the background and just drag-and-drop the file from the folder into the iTunes window.
Step 6: You should now see a progress bar that will indicate how long it will take to copy the file. Got short videos? Fast. Full-length movies? That’ll take a little time.
Transfer Videos to iPad from PC
Step 7: If you encounter problems stating that the file couldn’t be copied, it means there’s a problem with the file format. You’ll need to change the format of the videos through any of these free video converters or with QuickTime to an iPad compatible format before copying it.
Jar Jar Binks, perhaps the least popular character in the Star Wars movies that will be available online for the first time.
The six-film Star Wars saga will become available via iTunes and Google Play on Friday, marking the first time audiences will be able to download the movies without breaking the law. If Walt Disney Studios, Lucasfilm, and 20th Century Fox manage to sell legitimate digital copies with anything like the speed of pirated downloads, the belated retail exercise would be a big success.
Each film—from 1977's A New Hope to 2005's Revenge of the Sith—has been downloaded with help from torrenting websites from 1,500 to 3,000 times per day, according to estimates from file-sharing blog TorrentFreak. Even at the low end of the range, that adds up to more than a half-million copies each year. If the official Star Wars films sold that many copies for $20 apiece, the three studios that own pieces of the series would share a $46 million take after the online stores took their cuts.
Star Wars tends to get downloaded more than other films from the same era, "in part," says the editor of TorrentFreak, who goes by the name Ernesto Van Der Sar, "because the average BitTorrent downloader is more interested in sci-fi—and due to their classic status."
Up until this point, the owners of Star Wars have fought to keep the series off the Internet. In 2005, eight people were arrested in California for taking a copy of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith from a post-production facility and uploading it to the Internet before it was released. The man who directly uploaded the film, Marc Hoaglin, pleaded guilty to federal copyright infringement and was sentenced to probation.
Star Wars fans have tried to fill the online vacuum following the release of the three-film prequel series from 1999 to 2005. Topher Grace, the actor from That 70s Showand Interstellar, cut all three films into a single 85-minute movie and showed it in private screenings. The reedited movie became a cult classic of sorts, proving to annoyed die-hards that director George Lucas hadn’t done a good job with his own material. Few people saw it, however, presumably because Grace couldn’t get permission to show the film publicly. When a different version was made last year and posted to Vimeo, it was quickly removed.
The versions of the films that will be released on Friday will offer various bonus features such as deleted scenes and commentary. These extras are common in such reissues because consumers need a reason to buy something they’ve already seen. This release is intended to capitalize on excitement over the coming installment of the series, slated for release in December. There’s no information yet about when the forthcoming blockbusters will available for download, legitimate or not.

In over 75 years of Marvel comics there has been a plethora of superheroes, plenty of fighting, and a lot of hooking up.
In honor of Valentine's Day, here's an infographic from WebHostingBuzz outlining every kiss, relationship, and marriage that has ever occurred between Marvel superheroes.
It turns out money isn't everything. Wolverine wins over most of Marvel's women. He has been with 13 other heroes on the list. (It must be the claws.)
He just edges out billionaire Tony Stark (Iron Man), who has been with eight other heroes. X-Men's Mystique, who can change into any person she wants, has been involved with seven different characters, including Wolverine.
Take a look at all the relationships below:
